The Riad Dar Taliwint is ideally located just steps from the Bahia Palace. Its name recalls the village in the Moroccan South, Taliwine, famous for its saffron. 
We are in the heart of the Marrakech medina, in the historical, picturesque and shopping district called Riad Zitoun Jdid.
This area is a perfect start for walking to the main sites of Marrakech : The Bahia Palace, the Badi Palace, the Dar Si Said Museum, the Moroccan culinary arts Museum, the Tiskiwin house,the SaadianTombs, the Mellah and Jewish cemetery, the Ben Youssef Medersa and of course the world renowned Square Jemaa el Fna, on the list of the Unesco world heritage, for its oral tradition.
Dar Taliwint with its typical Arabic-Andalusian style, dates from the second half of the XIXth century, just like the Bahia Palace. All the historical elements of architecture and decoration have been maintained or restored, in the purest tradition, thanks to Moroccan master craftsmen, whose skill is legendary. Outdoors and indoors we can find in the details the vocabulary of the Moorish decorative language: masterful intricate mosaic designs (zellige), finely chiseled plaster friezes (gebs), carved cedar wood panels, painted wood (zouaq), smooth lime coating (tadelakt)…
Dar Taliwint opened as a guest house in 2001. On the ground floor, a parlour, a library room, and a dining-room surround the courtyard which is open to the sky. The 4 bedrooms are located on the first and second floors.
A rooftop terrace has a stunning panoramic view over the entire Marrakech Medina to the north, and the Atlas Mountain range with its snowy summits to the south.
All these cosy areas will ensure serene relaxation, reading, rêverie… where you can also let you lulled by the sweet sound of the mosaic fountain or share a delicious mint tea.
